Safe Driving Plus, the award-winning e-learning course from Cardinus Risk Management is now available for drivers of heavy goods vehicles.

The original Safe Driving Plus has won many fans for its effective, interactive teaching methods and has helped many fleets to reduce their accident rates and levels of risk. Now a version created for truck drivers looks set to do the same for operators of HGV fleets.

Marcus Noble, Managing Director – fleet at Cardinus Risk Management, said, “Driving a large goods vehicle is not like driving a car or even a van, so when we thought about creating Safe Driving Plus for truck drivers we knew we had to recreate the whole course.

“But some of our customers with mixed fleets told us that a truck version would be welcomed, so we knew it was a good idea and we put in a lot of work to create something really special.” 

Safe Driving Plus - Trucks is a highly interactive online training programme designed to help ensure that drivers have a baseline knowledge of defensive driving best practice and techniques. The course can be used following an appropriate risk assessment; to support current safe driving initiatives; or as a refresher tool in between regular practical driver training sessions. There are 12 informative and fully interactive modules each taking approximately ten minutes, giving a total duration of about two hours.
