Fraudsters target innocent drivers

Whenever your vehicle goes on the road, it becomes a potential target for organised or opportunistic fraudsters, who seek to create or cause an accident which on the face of it puts liability on your driver or employee and leaves the fraudsters looking like the innocent party.

They will aim not to stand out from the other genuine accidents that occur routinely. In fact the more it looks like a perfectly ordinary accident, the more likely they are to succeed - and to then facilitate fraudulent claims processes.

Whilst ‘fraudulent’ collisions are relatively few and far between and most collisions are genuine, there is always that possibility of such a collision happening to your drivers – If your drivers are in vehicles which are ‘business owned’ (newer cars or vans with business liveries) you are much more vulnerable; there is no merit in risking collisions with uninsured vehicles.

A prepared professional driver should always be on the alert for the mistakes that other drivers will inevitably make – in doing so the driver will also be on guard for mischievous activities. The most obvious and easily set-up collision will be where a vehicle brakes suddenly resulting in a shunt.
